PT KAI Commuter Jabodetabek (PT KCJ) hari ini kembali mendatangkan 24 unit KRL dari Jepang yang merupakan pengadaan KRL tahap kedua dari program pengadaan di tahun 2015 yang seluruhnya berjumlah 120 unit.

24 unit krl yang akan dipersiapkan untuk rangkaian dengan 12 kereta tersebut akan tiba di Pelabuhan Tanjung Priok, Jakarta pada Rabu 5 Agustus 2015 pukul 12:00 WIB.

“KRL yang baru datang dari Jepang ini akan kami uji coba operasikan sebagai rangkaian yang terdiri dari 12 kereta yang diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi jangka pendek untuk menambah kapasitas angkut KRL Jabodetabek terutama pada relasi terpadat seperti Bogor - Jakarta dan Bekasi-Jakarta," ungkap Direktur Utama PT KCJ, MN Fadhilla.

Penambahan kapasitas angkut KRL dengan memperpanjang rangkaian menjadi 12 kereta akan menjadi program PT KCJ yang akan direalisasikan tahun ini. Sejumlah prasarana yang menjadi pendukung untuk pengoperasian rangkaian dengan formasi 12 juga masih dipersiapkan PT KCJ bersama PT KAI Daop 1, diantaranya perpanjangan peron terutama pada lintas Bogor dan Bekasi untuk tujuan Jakarta Kota.

Perpanjangan peron tersebut direncanakan akan selesai pada akhir tahun 2015. Sehingga selama proses berlangsung PT KCJ mengharapkan kerjasama dari seluruh pengguna jasa agar pengoperasian krl dengan formasi 12 kereta dapat tetap berjalan secara paralel.

“Saat ini kami terus melakukan uji coba sarana dan penyesuaian prasarana untuk mendukung pengoperasian satu rangkaian KRL dengan 12 kereta, penambahan jumlah kereta pada rangkaian tersebut juga tidak akan merubah headaway atau waktu tunggu antar kereta yang ada saat ini. ” ucap Fadhil.

Sejak tahun 2008 hingga saat ini, PT KCJ telah membeli 784 unit KRL dan saat ini seluruh KRL tersebut dioperasikan untuk mengakomodir 884 perjalanan KRL per hari di wilayah Jabodetabek.
