T Prudential Life Assurance (Prudential Indonesia) dan PT Bank International Indonesia (BII) menjalin kerja sama dalam penjualan produk asuransi melalui perbankan (bancassurance).
Direktur Komunikasi dan Pemasaran Prudential Indonesia, Nini Sumohandoyo dalam keterangan yang diterima di Jakarta, Senin, menyebutkan, potensi penjualan produk asuransi melalui perbankan (bancassurance) di Indonesia masih besar.
Prudential Indonesia dan BII melihat adanya ruang pertumbuhan yang menjanjikan di pasar bancassurance di Indonesia.
Mengutip data Asosiasi Asuransi Jiwa Indonesia (AAJI), Nini Sumohandoyo menyebutkan, per 31 Desember 2010, jalur distribusi bancassurance di Indonesia memberikan kontribusi terhadap perolehan premi sebesar 28 persen terhadap keseluruhan perolehan premi bisnis asuransi jiwa di Indonesia.
Di Prudential Indonesia, jalur bancassurance telah memberikan kontribusi sekitar 13 persen dari keseluruhan perolehan premi pada tahun 2010.
Menurut Nini, potensi penjualan produk asuransi, khususnya asuransi terkait investasi melalui perbankan juga masih cukup besar. Ini terefleksi dari jumlah dana masyarakat di perbankan yang terus meningkat.
Data Bank Indonesia (BI) per Desember 2010 menyebutkan, jumlah dana pihak ketiga (DPK) di industri perbankan Indonesia sampai akhir 2010 mencapai Rp2.338,82 triliun. Jumlah tersebut meningkat sekitar 19,89 persen dibandingkan DPK perbankan tahun 2009 sebesar Rp1.950,71 triliun.
Kedua belah pihak berharap, kerja sama tersebut memberikan keuntungan bagi nasabah BII di mana mereka dapat memperoleh akses layanan terhadap sejumlah portofolio produk asuransi terkait investasi dan produk lain melalui jaringan BII di seluruh Indonesia.
Bagi Prudential Indonesia, kerja sama dengan BII akan memperluas jangkauan kepada masyarakat dalam mensosialisasikan pentingnya perlindungan asuransi serta meningkatkan jaringan bancassurance-nya di Indonesia.
Sementara itu Wakil Kepala Komunikasi Perusahaan BII, Esti Nugraheni menyebutkan, kerja sama dengan Prudential Indonesia sejalan dengan fokus perusahaan dalam meningkatkan kualitas layanan yaitu memenuhi beragam kebutuhan nasabah, khususnya kebutuhan akan perlindungan asuransi sekaligus investasi.
Kerja sama itu diharapkan akan meningkatkan pertumbuhan fee-based income (pendapatan non bunga) perusahaan bagi BII.
Manajemen BII berharap pendapatan non bunga dari jalur bancassurance akan terus meningkat. Pada 31 Desember 2010, total fee based income yang diraih BII sebesar Rp2,07 triliun, atau sekitar 30 persen dari total pendapatan.
