YP: Kalau saya baru saja merampungkan kuliah di salah satu universitas swasta yang ada di Jogja

Boleh dong dibagi sedikit tentang beberapa perombakan yang sudah dialami di MA? Misalnya pergantian personel, siapa yang sekarang jadi personel tetap? Dan bagaimana dengan sistem manajemennya?

Perombakan personil menurut kami merupakan sesuatu yang wajar dialami oleh setiap band. Saat ini formasinya 3 orang yaitu DZ (vokal, bass), KL (gitar) dan YP (drums). Sejak 2008 sampai sekarang, personil MA yang masih sama yaitu DZ dan KL. Untuk manajemen kita dibantu oleh Ockie yang megelola administrasi dan jadwal gigs.

MA sekarang sudah resmi berpindah dari desa besar bernama Jogja ke ibukota Jakarta Raya, ada alasan umum dan khusus? Lalu, apakah ada faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi gaya musikalitas, terutama penulisan lirik?

DZ: Sebenarnya di Jogja maupun di Jakarta itu sama saja, mengingat dengan adanya perkembangan teknologi informasi, band dari pelosok desa manapun memiliki peluang yang sama untuk dikenal di seluruh dunia. Kalau alasan saya, jelas karena saya lebih banyak beraktivitas di Jakarta dibandingkan di Jogja.

Soal gaya musikalitas berpengaruh atau tidak, itu pasti. Sangat berpengaruh. Tapi berpengaruhnya seperti apa, nanti pendengar yang menilai saja.. hehe..

Terkait dengan lirik, ada perubahan yang signifikan dibanding dengan album pertama, dimana pada album kedua ini kami menyelipkan beberapa lagu dengan lirik bahasa inggris. Itu merupakan tantangan baru untuk saya dalam menulis lirik, disamping ini pertama kalinya saya menulis lirik di tengah iklim kota metropolitan yang bising dan kurang kondusif untuk berimajinasi.

KL: Karena aktivitas sementara ini memang di Jakarta.

Kami merespon distorsi sekitar pada saat proses kreatif, itu yang kami lakukan baik waktu di Jogja maupun Jakarta, berbeda tentu mengenai isi kepala dan waktu yang dinamis, semuanya kami pulangkan kepada yang mendengar nantinya.

YP: Tidak ada alasan, hanya aktivitas teman-teman ada di jakarta sekarang.
