JUMAT pekan pertama Maret 2012. GOR Saparua sore hari lepas ashar, tapi masih jauh dari waktu adzan maghrib. Tanah masih basah. Pepohonan kuyup. Seorang kawan datang tergopoh-gopoh menghindari titik hujan yang belum berhenti tuntas. Dia membuka jaketnya. Dan… sambil tersungging dia memperlihatkan kaos barunya. Kaos gres Bromocorah dengan gambar artwork album MEN666ANAS.

Kaos itu langsung mengingatkan saya akan sebuah janji dengan seorang kawan. Tuhan memang penuh kuasa. Tak lama berselang, kawan itu datang. Jadilah interview ini dilakukan sembari ngalor-ngidul. Sambil diinterupsi gelak tawa dan sekantung kresek penuh gorengan yang tandas dalam tempo kurang dari seperempat jam.

Kawan itu tak lain Ipink, basis Bromocorah. Inilah petikan hasil bincang-bincang dengan Ipink. Dia memberi garansi apa yang diucapkannya bisa dijadikan representasi Bromocorah.

Alhamdulillah kita tetap woles seperti kemarin. Belum, Kamis (7/3) kemarin saya ngantri dua jam di FX Plaza Jakarta. Sayangnya nggak dapet. Soalnya emang loket penjualan belum dibuka. Hahaha… Tapi, ngomong-ngomong, Lady Gaga tuh band thrash kan?

Bukan Masbro! Lady Gaga itu merek ikan kalengan! Hahaha…

Selamat, akhirnya album Bromocorah keluar juga tahun ini. Gimana udah dapat laporan distribusi dan penjualan album MEN666ANAS?
Laporan secara detail belum dapat. Tapi, khusus untuk di Jakarta, katanya rating penjualan MEN666ANAS cukup lumayan.

Album MEN666ANAS diperbanyak berapa keping? Distribusi ke mana aja?
Jakarta, hamir seluruh Jawa, sampai Sumatera. Kita sebenarnya pengen mendistribusikan karya kami ini sampai ke Kairo. Tapi, kita belum punya jalur distribusi ke sana. Lagipula orang Mesir pasti lagi sibuk menata hidup mereka usai revolusi kemarin. Hahaha…

Jika ditarik benang merah, album MEN666ANAS cerita soal apa sih?
Kami hanya bercerita tentang ordinary issue. Tentang sub-urban dengan segala permasalahannya. Nggak jauh dari keseharian kita…

Apakah isu-isu tersebut kalian anggap cocok dengan dengan spirit musik kalian, thrash?
Mengusung spirit yang sesuai dengan musik yang kita mainkan memang penting. Tapi kami mau berpikir njelimet. Kami hanya merepresentasikan apa yang kami rasakan, alami, dan pikirkan dalam keseharian. Ada juga sedikit kritik dan semangat mengajak untuk bangkit, walau dibalut dengan musik yang agak kolot.

Yang bikin dan menentukan tema untuk lagu Danu kan?
Ya, kita udah bikin deskripsi kerja. Danu kita beri kebebasan menggali diksi untuk lirik-lirik lagu Bromocorah. Meski begitu, kadang kita juga tukar pikiran dan yang lain ngasih masukan.

Dari tracking pertama sampai rilis, sekitar 1,5 tahun.

Justru menurut saya rada delay juga. Biasa lah, masalah klasik band urban adalah finansial. Hahaha…

Hasilnya gimana?
Kami cukup puas, tapi kami tidak boleh puas. Kami harus jujur, masih banyak kekurangan di sana-sana. Dan itu harus kita koreksi di album berikutnya.

Adakah lagu di album MEN666ANAS yang benar-benar merepresentasikan Bromocorah secara band?
Ya ada, lagu berjudul Bromocorah.

Alasannya? Apa karena personil Bromocorah penjahat kambuhan semua?
Soal itu, bisa dilihat dari tampang kami lah. Khusus untuk band thrash, tampang tidak akan berbohong. Alasannya, kami ingin memperkenalkan sosok Bromocorah. Lebih dari itu, kami ingin menyampaikan sebuah pesan bahwa orang (dalam tanda kutip) yang dipandang sebelah mata bisa juga bikin perubahan. Walaupun hanya secuil.

Jika ada pertanyaan seperti ini, apakah berat album MEN666ANAS lebih menekankan sisi musik atau substansi lain seperti propaganda lewat lirik?
Kita ingin satu paket. Sebab kami pikir percuma saja jika musikalitas tinggi tapi nggak ada makna yang bisa diambil dari lirik. Begitu juga sebaliknya. Bukankah akan lebih ideal jika musikalitas yang baik didukung pula dengan substansi propaganda yang baik pula.

Kita ingin mempertebal sentuhan era 80-an. Konsep sound juga akan diubah biar lebih gahar. Kita sudah siapkan singel untuk test case proyesi itu. Sebentar lagi keluar kok!

Ya, kita sedang godok rencana bikin tur. Mudah-mudahan saku kami mendukung. Setelah itu baru mau bikin released party.

Kita justru mau tur ke Sumatera dulu. Kebetulan vokalis kami berasal dari sana. Setelah itu mungkin Jawa.

Adakah masalah memainkan musik thrash metal saat ini? Misalnya, thrash dianggap tidak menarik buat chiki-chiki. Atau justru baik-baik saja!
Hahahaha… pertanyaannya sangat ofensif nih! Yang jelas, musik yang kami mainkan mungkin tidak akan mengundang orang untuk joged tangan alias handbang.
