Berikut ini gue berhasil menginterview band Brutal death asal bekasi, kegilaan band ini udah nggak bias di tolerir lagi, asli mencongkel biji peler elo! Begitu mereka ngerilis promo demo dalam format CD-R, respon yg sangat bagus terus bermunculan dari berbagai media, nggak ketinggalan gue juga nich! Tambah lagi dengan gebrakan debut album pertama mereka secara professional dengan make title " Process of mutilated ' via UNDYING MUSIC ( ini adalah rilisan pertama label ini setelah sebelumnya getol ngerilis ulang stuff2 Metalcore luar negeri sono! ), ASPHYXIATE emang bener2 mo nunjukin gimana cara-nya memotong-motong kuping elo ama keganasan musik mereka ini! Berikut ini gue berhasil menangkap pentolan band edan ini, Deaddy, yg musti gue paksa interogasi gimana caranya memotong-motong pelacur yg bagus..he..he..langsung aja simak penuturannya via pertanyaan2 gue yg ngawur en kagak nyambung mungkin? Hello deaddy! What's up? Makin tambah edan aja nich! Lagi ngapain aja di akhir tahun 2004 yg membosankan ini dengan segala aktifitas elo di extreme music scene ini?
Deaddy : Hello juga Herry yang ganteng... we're doing fine, thanks.. kami ga peduli dengan akhir tahun ini yang pasti kami sedang mencoba konsentrasi membuat materi-materi baru yang kami harapkan bisa lebih sadis dari sebelumnya...

Ok certain tentang proses penggarapan " Process of mutilated " ini! En gimana tuh ceritanya ASPHYXIATE bisa ketemu ama UNDYING MUSIC ( Hello Bimorbid!! ) buat ngerilis stuff ini? En gimana juga dengan cara kerja label ini? Karena yg gue tau label ini kebanyakan ngerilis ulang stuff2 metalcore, trus elo puas nggak dengan hasilnya? Sampai kini rilisan ini udah sold out nyampe berapa nich?
Deaddy : waduh, pusing juga jawabnya nich... hmmm.. pertama - tama setelah kami selesai recording, kami langsung membuat kopian hasil recording tersebut kedalamformat CDR yang kami beri titel "Bleeding Promo" yang kami sebar luaskan kedalam maupun luar negeri yang niatnya untuk promosi dan sekalian mencari label, setelah beberapa label di jakarta kami datangi akhirnya kami menunggu salah satu dari mereka yang tertarik untuk merilis debut album Asphyxiate tersebut, dan ternyata si Bimo alias the owner of Undying Music tertarik dan langsung membuat kesepaktan untuk merilis Asphyxiate, dia dapet materi Asphyxiate dari Never Ending Hate webzine. dan bla bla bla... terjadilah album "The Process Of Mutilation" ini.. masalah jumlah copy yang telah Sold Out gw sendiri nggak tau yang pasti di Indonesia nggak banyak, karena setengahnya dia kirim ke Malaysia dan Singapure. untuk masalah puas nggaknya sich... ehmmm... jujur aja lah gw khan orangnya rajin menuntut kalau membuat perjanjian dan tenyata perjanjian tersebut terlanggar... ngerti khan ??? hehehehe intinya kami kurang puas !!!

gue dapet khabar langsung dari Andreas-nya CORPSE FUCKING ART ( hello andreas!! ) yg bikin label baru dengan merek dagang DESPISE THE SUN Records, kalo ASPHYXIATE bakalan di rilis ulang albumnya via label brutal baru di itali ini, gimana tuh ceritanya kalian bisa sign ama label ini juga? Apa ini juga materi yg di ambil dari album " Process of mutilated " atau lainnya? Trus gue liat juga gambar covernya yg lain dari sebelumnya? Siapa sich yg bikin lukisan sakit ini?
Deaddy : DESPISE THE SUN RECORDS (Italy) memang tergolong label baru, Andreas kontak gw yang menyatakan kalau dia baru bikin label dan tertarik untuk merilis debut album Asphyxiate yang sebenernya gw bingung juga karena dia udah punya materi Asphyxiate 1 album penuh sebelumnya.. dapet dari mana ya ??? sebelumnya gw hampir deal dengan label Russia yang cukup baru juga tapi gw masih ragu dengan konsep kerja dan promosi yang dia tawarkan, Andreas mampu menawarkan yang lebih bagus dan dia menyanggupi untuk mendanai pembuatan cover art baru yang diserahkan ke Christ Moyem (France) serta di Mixing dan Mastering ulang.. serta royalti yang lumayan buat beli es teh.. hehehe... gw nggak mempermasalhkan label baru atau lama, besar atau kecil.. yang penting konsep kerja mereka bagus untuk promosi band kecil ini... materi masih sama seperti "The Process Of Mutilation" rilisan Undying Music hanya saja beda Cover, Format CD, dan di Mixing ulang..

dalam menulis lagu, apa para personil ASPHYXIATE musti memasukkan Unsur-unsur faforite band luar sono yg senantiasa hinggap di benak, kerna sking cintanya ama style yg di mainkannya, karena yg gue tau nama2 yg sangat familiar kayak DYING FETUS,DISGORGE(us),DEVOURMENT,CRYPTOPSY etc kayaknya menjadi hal wajib dasar utama kiblat para Brutal death band di Indonesia khususnya, adakah ASPHYXIATE punya motivasi buat menampilkan Style Indonesian Brutal death yg begitu orisinil menurut dasar karakternya? Sebuah stereotype klise yg masih simpang siur jawabannya boss!
Deaddy : oh.. nggak... kami membuat lagu sesuai dengan apa yang ada di benak kami.. tetapi terkadang memang tanpa disadari agak menyerupai bapaknya band-band brutal sana, seperti contohnya: nggak sedikit orang yang bilang kalau karakter musik kami condong ke DYING FETUS padahal kami tidak menggemari DYING FETUS sama sekali.. dan ada juga yang bilang kalau karakter musik kami mirip SUFFOCATION padahal menurut gw kami nggak pernah terpaku oleh SUFFOCATION dalam membuat lagu.. tapi sekarang ASPHYXIATE mulai termotivasi untuk mempelajari karakter dan teknik-teknik band-band yang kami anggap Dewa brutal death.. bukan nyontek loh tapi mempelajarinya biar kami punya pola pikir yang lebih luas dalam menciptakan lagu.. band-band yang punya karakter Indonesian Brutal Death udah banyak banget kok khususnya di Jakarta.. tapi gw nggak bisa menyebutkan band-band tersebut, takut dimarahin ah...( ah masak sich? Ed )

Lirik-lirik lagu ASPHYXIATE banyak bercerita tentang apa sich? Kalo liat sepintas sich titel2 lagunya, sekilas udah berbau darah en kematian, apa untuk materi yg akan dating bakalan terus dengan Tema2 berdarah kayak gini, oh ya apa sich sebenernya yg kalian tulis dalam lagu " breakfast with satanic flesh " itu? Kayaknya agak unik juga buat kondisi Indonesian scene tuh?

Menurut elo Musik en lirik itu pentingan mana? Karena gue liat jaman sekarang jarang banget band yg memperhatikan lirik sebagai media penyaluran emosi serta protes mendasar dari apa yg di rasakan nggak bener dalam kehidupan ini, kerna alas an type vocal Guttural grunt vokill yg nggak maksimal mengucap pattern vocal dengan aksen yg jelas, mungkin Boss ada semacam opini dalam hal ini agar nggak terkesan asal-asalan yg kita nyanyikan style brutal death metal ini?
Deaddy : menurut gw keduanya penting, yang pertama kali gw denger dari band-band Brutal Death dan Metal lainnya adalah arransemen musiknya, lalu gw denger pattern dan karakter vocalnya, kalau musiknya bagus tapi vocal asal-asalan nggak jelas ya nggak bakalan gw dengerin lagi band itu.. seperti layaknya DEEDS OF FLESH album " Reduced To Ashes "yg mulai makin berpaling dari album-album awalnya.. pertama gw denger arransemen musiknya bikin gw cukup kaget dan berkata "Wowwww... mantap" lalu gw pelajari lyricnya dan akhirnya bikin gw berkata "Gilaaaaa.... nich band !! Sempurna" ngerti khan ? harus ngerti...( wah si Boss maksa nich!, ya udah tau dong boss! Ed )
