Oke, untuk line up official kami di 2015 ini adalah ricky’noyz di sektor depan, ryan’patroz di lini belakang sebagai groove beater machine, penjaga low frekuensi digeluti oleh irvan’asuy, dan posisi gitar saat ini dicengkram oleh edo’edztortion dengan heavy monster riff nya.

Nice guys, bisa ceritakan sejarah singkatnya mengenai outright bisa bertahan hingga saat ini?
Butuh jutaan ribu kata klo harus diurai dari awal, singkatnya Outright terbentuk di Bandung tahun 2004 dalam pertemanan SMA antara Ryan, Bharata, Irvan dan Ricky. kami berempat memiliki antusias yg sama terhadap musik hardcore dan mencoba mengapresiasikan apa yang kami rasa ke dalam band ini. Beranjak dari mengcover lagu-lagu dari hc Eropa dan USA seperti Rykers, Only Attitude Count, Hatebreed, Madball, Biohazard dan sejenisnya. Empat tahun berjalan ahirnya di taun 2008 full length album pertama kami bertitel ‘hardcore strikes back’ rilis.. Kenapa diberi titel demikian karena pada saat itu gairah untuk musik HC sedang menurun krn dilanda trend-trend musik sesaat waktu itu, Bahkan tidak sedikit band yang berpaling mengikuti arus trend tapi disini kami membuktikan kalau ‘hardcore still alive’ dan akan terus ‘mengaum’.. 2011 Ricky menonaktifkan diri karena kesibukan pekerjaan dan keluarga. Posisi vokal kemudian diisi oleh Hardi vokalis dari ‘End of Line’ saat itu.. 3 tahun melanglangbuana bersama Hardi ahirnya di awal 2014 Posisi vokal kembali di isi oleh Ricky. Pertengahan 2014 kemarin kami meluncurkan album ke 2 bertitel ‘Persistence’. Akhir 2014 Bharata menonaktifkan diri karena keterbatasan waktu antara bisnis keluarga dan band. Selarang posisi gitar dihandle sementara oleh edo dari Hellbeyond. Gak kerasa 11 tahun berjalan dan kami bakal terus berkontribusi memberikan yang terbaik dalam sgala hal buat kemajuan skena musik Indonesia.

Wow, cukup panjang juga perjuangannya. Oiya, kira-kira apa yang menjadi inspirasi kalian dalam bermusik atau berkarya?
Yang menjadi inspirasi dalam berkarya adalah lika-liku kehidupan yg beragam. Hidup hanya sekali, sayang kalau dilewatkan begitu saja tanpa ada sesuatu yang bisa diabadikan. hehe

Bener banget tuh, hidup terlalu berharga buat disia-siakan. Kenapa lebih memilih Hardcore seperti apa yang kalian mainkan (super groove power chords)? bukan hardcore oldskul atau lainnya?
Tidak ada alasan khusus, kami hanya menjalani apa yang sesuai dengan ‘passion’ kami dalam bermusik karena musik yang kami mainkan mewakili apa yang kami suka.

sejauh ini apa sih yang menjadi kendala kalian dalam membentuk Outright hingga seperti sekarang ini?
Kendala yang di alami selama ini paling seputar keterbatasan waktu karena semua personilnya punya kesibukan bisnis masing-masing dan juga keluarga, waktukan cuma 24 jam jadi sebisa mungkin harus memaintence ketiga ornamen itu (bisnis, keluarga, band) agar tetap harmonis.

Tentang karya kalian di album “Persistence”, Apa filosofi kalian terhadap album ini? dan kenapa diberi judul “Persistence”?
Persistence memiliki makna kegigihan. Kata itu menurut kami pantas untuk mewakili isi album kedua ini. Dalam proses pembuatan album ini banyak sekali lika-liku yang menjegal. Tapi berkat semangat yang terus membara dan kegigihan tekad ahirnya semua bisa terselesaikan. Filosofi dari album ini terus perjuangkan apa yang diyakini dengan kerja keras karena setiap proses pasti akan membuahkan hasil.

Apa yang kalian inginkan ketika orang mendengar lagu-lagu kalian? kalau menurut kami, pesan musik kalian lebih kepada bertahan, terus maju, dan berjuang. Sejalan dengan apa yang kalian gandrungi bagaimana hardcore menurut kalian?
Kami membuat musik hanya muntahan isi kepala saja tidak ada misi apapun, dan jika bisa menjadi inspirasi buat banyak orang ya semoga bisa memberikan impact yg positif saja dalam segala hal.

Setiap orang memiliki definisi sendiri tentang apa itu hardcore. Kalau menurut kami hardcore bukan sekedar musik, didalamnya mengandung perjuangan hidup, loyalitas, dedikasi , dan respect !

apa project kalian selanjutnya nih? setelah rilis album terakhir di tahun kemarin?
Dalam waktu dekat ini masih menjalani off air akhir pekan dan tour pendek sambil merancang materi-materi baru buat album selanjutnya. Selain itu kami juga sedang mempersiapkan beberapa video klip dari album Persistence.
