Proses penghitungan dan seleksi keterampilan yang dimilikinya
dan didampingi oleh Asissten Pembibitan. Pedoman seleksi
kecambah disajikan pada.

Kecambah yang abnormal, patah, busuk, berkutu dan berjamur
harus dipisahkan, dihitung dan dikumpulkan tersendiri sebagai
bukti pembuatan berita Acara Seleksi. Ciri kecambah normal
dapat dilihat pada diferensinya, dimana pucuk (plumula) dan akar
(radikula) dapat dibedakan dengan jelas. Pucuk bentuknya
meruncing sedangkan akar agak tumpul, panjangnya ±8-25 mm
berwarna putih gading dengan posisi saling bertolak belakang.

Kecambah kelapa sawit yang afkir (mati, busuk, bantant)
dihitung dan dimasukkan dalam kantong plastic. Setiap kantong
berisi 500 KKS diberi label (asal KKS, nomor DO, tanggal kirim)
dan disimpan untuk diverifikasi audit HO. Setelah itu kecambah
afkir dapat dimusnahkan setelah mendapatkan verifikasi
Departemen Riset dan atau agronomi Quality Control (AQC).

Sebelum ditanam, letakkan kecambah ke dalam wadah tertentu
yang telah berisi larutan fungisida sesuai rekomendasi
Departemen Riset. Wadah sebaiknya diletakkan di tempat yang
sejuk/memiliki sirkulasi udara baik.

Penanaman kecambah harus dilakukan per kelompok.
a. Sebelum penanaman kecambah, baby bag yang telah diisi
tanah harus disiram terlebih dahulu.
b. Apabila ditemukan kecambah ganda, maka kecambah
tersebut ditanam secara terpisah dengan kelompok lainnya
untuk memonitor pertumbuhannya.
