Berdiri di kota Surabaya tahun 1997 oleh HARRU "Sakral Death" (Surabaya Death Metal) dan SAM"Kendath" (Surabaya Black Metal),dengan nama awal "ARMY OF GOD". namun dengan masuknya personil baru Martha ( Female Vocal ),Wisnu (Guitar),Richard (R.I.P) (Bass),Eko (Drum ),Taufani (Keyboard). Mereka merubah nama menjadi TOTAL TRAGEDY (Kiamat) yang bergenre DOOM GOTHIC METAL. Dengan formasi pertama ini sekitar tahun 1998. Wisnu, Taufani dan Richard (R.I.P)resmi mengundurkan diri, karena adanya kepentingan diluar band. Dan disaat itu ADI dan AO masuk untuk mengisi kekosongan yang ditinggalkan Wisnu dan Taufani. Formasi saat itu Harru ( Male Vocal ), Martha (Female Vocal), Sam (Guitar ) Adi ( Keyboard ) Ao ( Bass )Eko ( Drum ) Dengan formasi ke-2 ini tahun 2000, TOTAL TRAGEDY mengeluarkan materi demo berisi dua buah single, yaitu " SINAR BATAS SEPI &KISS OF DEATH ".
Tak berselang lama, tahun 2001, TOTAL TRAGEDY mengeluarkan debut album perdana mereka, yaitu "EVERY STORY HAS A GLORY", dibawah label SONNEN GOTT MUSIK. Album tersebut mendapat respons Metal Head Indonesia yang begitu luar biasa. Dari data Label untuk " EVERY STORY HAS A GLORY ", hasil penjualan albumnya melebihi 5.000 copy. Dua buah single di album tersebut masuk dalam kompilasi Mayor Label, yaitu " Hampa Kumenanti (METALIK KLINIK #5) " dan " Tenggelam Di Telan Duka (LEGION TIMUR) ". Pada awal tahun 2002 masuk kembali RICHARD (R.I.P) untuk kembali mengisi kekosongan di posisi guitar. Dipertengahan tahun itu TOTAL TRAGEDY meluncurkan album ke-2 mereka yg bertitle " HEAVEN "dibawah label SONNEN GOTT MUSIK. Tak berselang lama setelah album "HEAVEN"dirilis, MARTHA & EKO mengundurkan diri dan khusus untuk RICHARD, karena kehendak takdir, dia berpulang kerumah Tuhan. Saat itu terjadi perubahan formasi personil dalam diri TOTAL TRAGEDY, Adi beralih keposisi Guitar. Untuk mengisi kekosongan pada Female Vocal, Keyboard & Drum, TOTAL TRAGEDY memakai Additional Player. Pada tahun 2006, TOTAL TRAGEDY mengeluarkan album ke-3 yang bertajuk " LABYRINTH "dibawah label SONNEN GOTT MUSIK. Di album tersebut Female Vocal, Keyboard & Drum, tetap memakai Additional Player. Dan tahun 2007, karena keadaan TOTAL TRAGEDY memaksakan vakum untuk waktu yg cukup lama. Sekitar tahun 2008 karena tidak ingin terlarut dengan keadaan, HARRU (Voc TT) menggandeng ERLYN & HENDRA (DREAM ANGEL, Surabaya Gothic Metal) & additional diposisi Guitar& Bass. Saat itu juga mengeluarkan 2 single dalam Versi Akustik, yaitu " RED ATMOSPHERE & MORNING SUN " dibawah label yang sama. Tahun 2010 menjadi awal kebangkitan TOTAL TRAGEDY, dengan menggandeng TOMMY "Bugil", PATRICK "Paty Geni" (Gresik Black Metal), & SURYA "Dream Angel" (Surabaya Gothic Metal).
