Bicara soal sejarah KAPITAL, maka nama Akbar Haka mungkin pantas diajukan sebagai motor penggeraknya. Akbar adalah “sel telur” yang aktif melakukan pencarian bentuk janin KAPITAL. Ia memulai segalanya dengan membentuk The Pistol pada sekitar tahun 2004. Itu sepulang ia dari studynya di Bandung. Saat study di Bandung pula Akbar sempat bergabung di sebuah band hardcore bernama Riotic Buddha. Akbar bersama Dhani Arinda, David Haka (Biang Kerock) dan Enkids (Rantai) juga pernah merasakan bergulat di major label Musica Studio ketika merilis album bersama sebuah band bernama Mailbox. Bersama band ini mereka sempat menggelar tur panjang di Jawa, Bali dan Sumatera.

Nama The Pistol kemudian disepakati berubah menjadi KAPITAL pada tahun 2007. Formasi awal band ini saat itu adalah Akbar Haka - vokal, Dhani Arinda-gitar, David Haka-gitar, Beng (Cannary)-bass dan Ivan Fahrani-drums. Mulailah proyek album pertama digarap. Belum sempat menyelesaikan proses album, Dhani Arinda mengundurkan diri dari formasi KAPITAL dan posisinya digantikan oleh Aji Hendra (Abbyssal). Formasi ini sukses merilis album debut “Metalmorphosis” di tahun 2009 dengan hits lagu Tak Bernyawa yang proses video klip digarap di Den Haag, Amsterdam dan Belgia. Menjelang proses penggarapan album kedua, Aji Hendra keluar dari formasi KAPITAL, perannya kembali diambil alih oleh Dhani Arinda yang bergabung kembali. KAPITAL kembali ke formasi awalnya. Di titik ini, lahir album kedua KAPITAL bertajuk “Reinkarnasi” tahun 2011. Proses promo album kedua ini kembali agak tersendat ketika David Haka mengajukan pengunduran diri dengan alasan ingin fokus membesarkan band barunya, Biang Kerock. Pasca keluarnya David, KAPITAL merekrut Gerhard (Femur) sebagai penggantinya. Formasi Akbar-Dhani-Beng-Ivan-Gerhard ini kemudian sukses melahirkan album ketiga KAPITAL “Sympony Kegelapan”. Selesai proses album ketiga, formasi KAPITAL kembali mengalami pergantian di seksi drum. Ivan Fahrani yang telah bersama mereka sejak awal memilih istirahat dari KAPITAL. Dari situasi inilah kemudian KAPITAL menemukan drummer muda asal Samarinda, Indra yang memulai debutnya bersama KAPITAL saat tampil di Rock In Celebes Desember 2013 lalu.
